In our never-ending efforts to improve our platform and provide you with the best service in the market, GradLeaders is happy to announce two significant upgrades to our embedded virtual meeting rooms, provided by Dyte. See below for an overview, usage details, and pricing info.
Overview:
You will have the option to record any virtual meeting. This has many exciting possibilities. The most obvious is that you can record mock/practice interviews, benefiting both the advisor and the candidate. Also, you can record popular workshops and events, which you can circulate to people that are unable to attend live. The recordings are retained for 30 days, downloadable, and easily accessible in the GL system to users on a permission driven basis.
Additionally, the virtual meetings can now be enabled to provide AI Meeting Summaries / Transcripts / Live Closed Captioning. This provides many obvious benefits. First and foremost, the Closed Captioning is invaluable to users with hearing challenges. The AI Summaries can be a valuable note summary for an advising meeting, beneficial to both parties. The comprehensive AI Transcript can be useful for attendees that arrive late or leave early to sessions / events.
Usage Details:
Following the May 5 release, the meeting recording function is simply available in the meeting rooms. This is handled exactly like all other meeting tools. Recording can only be initiated by Admin users, who are typically the meeting organizers. For Peer-to-peer appointments, company office hours and similar events, the Admin users can decide if they want to allow recording or not, and have the recording auto-start.
The AI transcription and CC function has added flexibility of being enabled / disabled per session. The Admin user / organizer can control whether this option appears in the meeting controls. If enabled, these functions are bundled into a single “Turn on Transcripts” setting in the meeting.
There is an additional option to auto-start recording, which can be configured on for you as needed. Below are examples of these configurable fields, and also a screenshot of the meeting room controls.
Finally, there is an extra option to have the AI Meeting summary automatically sent to all participants via email at the conclusion of the meeting.
As you would expect, there are no surprises. Every person in a meeting that is being recorded will be forced to acknowledge this in a popup and give their consent, or they may choose to leave. It is our belief that people are very comfortable with this approach by now, and most people will ask other users if they are comfortable with recording the session before they start. The same popup shown below will also appear if the AI Transcripts and CC are enabled. Once enabled, every attendee in the meeting will be able to choose to turn on Closed Captioning for themselves. The AI summaries and transcripts can also be setup to be sent to all attendees. Notice that in keeping with GDPR and other data protection acts, a link to the GL privacy policy is available.
Once the meeting is concluded, and a small amount of time has passed to allow the system to conclude the recording and/or AI functions, the following screen shot appears as a widget in the GL interface. For Admin users, you find this on the page where you can view the meeting / event / appointment.

Please be aware that GradLeaders adds nothing on your annual license. We know from personal experience that annual Zoom and Teams licenses are enormously expensive. The video capability is included in the standard GradLeaders platform; we only charge you for your actual usage, as that is how Dyte charges GradLeaders.
