Survey grid

This grid displays all surveys created in GradLeaders or in SurveyMonkey. Please note that SurveyMonkey surveys will be deprecated on April 7, 2025.

1.       Perform actions on all rows. These permissionable actions include adding a new GradLeaders survey and exporting the survey list.

2.       Filter your list.

3.       Perform actions on a single row. These permissionable actions include copying or deleting a GradLeaders survey. Note that when you delete a survey, all questions and responses are also deleted.

 

 

View Survey Details

1.       The Survey tab displays all survey settings, sections, and questions.

2.       The Snapshot tab provides a graphic representation of survey responses. Contact GradLeaders to have this tab enabled.

3.       The Action section provides access to all permissionable actions for this survey.

4.       Each section is represented, and includes:

·         Section title

·         Survey page number

·         Permissionable actions relevant to the section

·         An indicator that the section is conditional based on a prior question’s response

5.       Each question’s settings and responses always display. Note that the # Responses column calculates completed surveys only.

6.       The Metrics widget rolls up high level metrics for this survey.

 

Survey Settings

Each survey includes a number of settings:

1.       Survey Name, text

2.       Default Section Text, text

3.       Audience, selector. Values include Student, Employer, and School Staff

4.       Survey Type, selector. Values include Adhoc and Co-op

5.       Prompt on Dashboard, Y/N. This setting controls whether recipients will be reminded of this survey on their respective dashboard

6.       Status, selector. Values include Active and Inactive

7.       Send Daily Summary Email, Y/N. This controls whether a daily email of recent responses is sent to the survey creator

8.       Completion Page, selector. Values include Default, which directs to a generic survey completion page, and Custom URL, which enables you to specify the URL to which the user will be directed upon completion

 

 

Adding Sections

Each section contains a number of settings.

1.       Section title, text

2.       Visibility, selector. Values include Always and Conditional. Conditional sections display based on the user’s response to a prior question

3.       Instruction text, text.

Adding Questions

Each question includes its own settings. These include:

1.       Question Text, text

2.       Parent Section, selector of all Sections for the current survey

3.       Data Type, selector, values include List, Matrix, Text, Date, Numeric

4.       Input Type. This setting enables you to select the Control Type for the selected Data Type

a.       List questions can be enabled as a Dropdown List, Checkbox List, Radio Button, Toggle, or Slider

b.       Matrix questions can only be enabled as a Text Box Matrix

c.       Text questions can use the following controls: Text Line, Text Line with Add More, Text Box, Text Box with Add More, Email Address, URL, Phone, File/Attachment

d.       Date Questions can be enabled as Date Only, Date & Time, Time Only, Month & Year

e.       Numeric questions can only use a Number control

5.       Visibility, selector, values include Always and Conditional. Conditional questions display based on the user’s response to a prior question

6.       Instruction Text, HTML

7.       Help Text, text

 

Sort Survey Sections and Questions

You may sort survey sections or questions using drag and drop.

 

 

Preview Surveys

A permissionable Preview function is available to Staff, which opens the survey in a new window, enabling you to view and click through the survey. If you are an admin user, and you do not have the "Preview Survey" action in the new module, it is because your Admin login account is not connected to a Staff record.  

 

Survey Audit Log

A new survey Audit Log displays all additions, updates, and deletions for each survey Section and Question.

 

 

Other Notes

Sharing Surveys

New email templates enable you to send Adhoc surveys and reminders to students, employers, and school staff. Typically, a Send Survey action is available from the Matched and Selected tabs on Student, Employer, and School Staff grids.

 

Co-op Surveys

You’ll be able to select from both GradLeaders and SurveyMonkey surveys when creating Co-op Approval Workflows. Please note that SurveyMonkey surveys will be deprecated on April 7, 2025. Please don’t open any new co-op surveys in SurveyMonkey with deadlines beyond April 7, 2025.

 

Survey Completion

If a user leaves a survey incomplete, the next time they open the survey, they will start at the beginning of the survey, although previous responses will be populated.
